The University of Law in Manchester played host to students from Trafford College as they celebrated their graduation from the Career Ready programme with parents and tutors.
Career Ready is a UK wide charity linking employers with schools and colleges to open up the world of work to young people. Offered through a structured programme of study for 16-19 year olds that sits alongside students' coursework, it is delivered by employer volunteers who provide masterclasses, mentoring, workplace visits and internships to help students compete with the best in the country.
Joining the students for this year's graduation celebrations were members of the Local Advisory Board (LAB) who support the Career Ready programme. The LAB meets several times a year and supports the delivery of the programme in mentoring students, delivering masterclasses and providing guest speaker talks, site visits and internships.
The event was a huge success and students were delighted to don their gaps and gowns, and be presented with their graduation certificates by Ellen Powles from Burau van Dijk, part of Moody's.
Celebrating this year's graduation with fellow students was Trafford College student, Ramona Sulyok who commented:
"Being a part of Career Ready was an amazing opportunity which I would recommend to anyone who is serious about developing in the business world. I have made great connections with organisations such as Moody's and ACCA. I have also met with local entrepreneurs. Throughout this experience I have gained business and networking skills that will be with me throughout my whole business life."
