CHILDREN and young people from across Trafford have been sharing their views on how their voices and experiences can influence the council decisions and services that affect them.
They came together for a special event at Gorse Hill Studios, which saw the launch of Trafford’s Participation and Engagement strategy.
This aims to give all children and young people across the borough, including Altrincham, Hale and Sale, opportunity to take part in decisions which affect their lives and to shape how services are decided upon, planned and delivered.
The strategy was developed alongside children and young people from 13 groups and organisations, including representatives from Trafford Youth Cabinet, Trafford Children in Care Council and young people with special educational needs or disabilities.
The evening event was expertly hosted by two care-experienced young people and featured musical and dance performances.
A number of young people spoke about their experiences of taking part in the Trafford Youth Cabinet and the Aftercare Forum and of working for Trafford Council on the Kickstart training programme.
