Pace ace joins Altrincham

ALTRINCHAM manager Phil Parkinson has received an attacking boost with the loan signing of pacy winger Michael Gyasi.
The 22-year-old has joined Alty from National League high-flyers Chesterfield for the rest of the season. It follows the departure of Robins’ winger Ryan Colclough to the Derbyshire club. Ghanian Gyasi, who primarily operates on the left flank but can also play as a striker, is renowned for his speed and also has an eye for goal.
He joined the Spirites from King’s Lynn Town in the summer for an undisclosed fee and has been described as having “frighting pace”.
While struggling to hold down a place in Chesterfield’s side he has recently ending a loan spell with Gloucester City, where he scored two goals in six appearances. His signing comes after Robins’ winger Ryan Colclough joined Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee after Altrincham reluctantly accepted a bid from them.
Several clubs had registered a willingness to meet a buy-out clause in the 28-year-old’s contract and in a statement Altrincham said: “Despite the club’s best efforts to talk him into staying and extending a spectacularly-successful spell at The J.Davidson Stadium, Ryan felt the time was right for a move and indicated a wish to accept Chesterfield’s offer.”
It added: “All the money received will go towards further strengthening the squad, and it will come as no surprise that contingency plans for this eventuality have been taking shape behind the scenes, with several potential transfer targets already identified.”
Colclough joined Altrincham in October 2020 after leaving Scunthorpe United.
